Paristokyopempelfort presents Foto Schiko
- Lieber Helmut, habe Deine Nummer verloren, Du hast ja meine -
Photography is his life and his life is photography. Who ever had the chance to meet Schiko, probably met him with a camera in his hands, right in the middle of the action rather than outside looking in. Next to his work for the fashion industry and for cultural institutions, he is having a hard time leaving the lens out of his private life. That has lead to a huge body of work documenting the lifes of himself, his friends, family and close peers. His archive seemingly is endless, and a part of it will be shown in our exhibition.
Schiko will be presenting a cross section of his work and at the same time of his life.
His portraits of artists and musicians well be shown right next to pictures of very intimate moments – all of them real as life, without make-up or makeover. However it is especially these more private pictures, that capture the beauty of the moment and most of all of the people in them, pure and honest.
Each of them is telling a story, showing the close relation he has with his models. No matter how drunk, sad, happy, lonely, euphoric, angry or comfortable they are looking, the have one thing in common: The open their hearts to Schiko’s camera, offering a peek behind the scenes, into their lives, even into their secrets at times. However, Schiko is far from being voyeuristic, instead he seems to be feeling with his subjects, putting his emotions into the pictures as well.

Next to various pigment prints of his work, the exhibition will feature a series of screenprinted posters, t-shirts, his recently launched photo book -Unique Records- and some black and white photo prints. Come see for yourself.

DJ Soulrabbie and DJ Rafik will take care of the music.
The exhibition will be open each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 2 pm to 4 pm or at an individual time to be comfirmed by phone.
